Developers have introduced WAL-RUS, an open-source Rust rewrite of the WAL-G PostgreSQL backup utility that maintains full compatibility with the original tool. The new software significantly improves resource efficiency by reducing virtual memory usage by over 70 percent compared to its predecessor.
