A developer has replaced the traditional brass-plug scoring gauge with an iOS app that uses smartphone photos to accurately score rifle shooting targets. By porting a 2012 OpenCV paper to YOLOv8 and CoreML, the application leverages on-device computer vision to analyze the targets directly on the phone.
